Remember, the drug addicted person is using drugs because of a weakness. Privacy is a top priority. It's called "saving face." Why feed the rumor mill? If you have a drinking problem, it's your personal business. You shouldn't allow it to ruin your career. Nor should you lose your reputations in the family, your neighborhood, and your community. It's easier to tell who you want, what you want, and when you want. Keeping yourself at home protects your privacy and puts reputation on your own terms where you deserve it to be.
When the addict and the councilors feel the program is complete and all requirements are finished, at the addict's own pace, then it is time for graduations and goodbyes.

You should do this even if you do think that you have the necessary funding in order to afford a trip to rehab. Some people qualify for special funding depending on their financial situation and what particular state or country they live in. It pays to call and ask questions.
People get trapped into using and abusing alcohol and drugs because they really don't know any better. If they had a better solution to their problems they would do that. But all they've got is a bottle, a prescription or some drugs to solve their problems.
